President Piñera receives the National Policy from the Science, Technology, Knowledge and Innovation Ministry

The document submitted by Science Minister Andrés Couve contains the principal guidelines for the ministry, which focuses on connecting with society, innovation, human capital and strengthening institutions.

President Sebastián Piñera received the National Policy from the Science, Technology, Knowledge and Innovation Ministry following an inspection visit at the ministry’s new facilities in downtown Santiago.

Accompanied by Minister Andrés Couve, Undersecretary Carolina Torrealba and individuals from the academic world, President Piñera highlighted the efforts undertaken by the more than one thousand people who participated in drafting the plan.

The National Policy has four principal aims: connecting with society to impact the educational system and the people; the future, which aims to harness knowledge, technology and innovation; strengthening the ecosystem of science, technology, knowledge and innovation; and bolstering and modernizing institutional capacities
