Leaders of Chile and Spain sign important cooperation agreements

The Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, was received at La Moneda Palace at the start of his state visit. 

President Gabriel Boric and the Prime Minister of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, led the signing of new cooperation agreements at La Moneda Palace, to strengthen ties between our two countries. 

The event took place as part of the official visit by the Spanish Prime Minister to Chile. During the day, he accompanied President Boric to an event commemorating International Women’s Day. 

Cooperation agreements signed 

🌿 Fair green transition: New impetus for technical interchange on climate change, energy transition and water transition.

💡 CORFO and CDTI collaboration agreement: Strengthens the complementary powers of both government agencies in supporting research, development and technological innovation projects. 


❄ Antarctic cooperation: Joint action plan to prioritize diplomatic coordination in international forums, scientific and logistical cooperation, and more. 


🕊 Democratic memory: Greater institutional cooperation in forensic expertise, human rights education and public policies guaranteeing non-repetition. 


Both leaders also signed the Renewed Strategic Alliance and a Presidential Declaration of Gender Equality.
