Foreign Affairs Minister Andrés Allamand attends inauguration ceremony in Bolivia and meets with new President Luis Arce

Following the ceremony, Minister Allamand spoke with newly inaugurated Mr. Arce and Mr. Choquehuanca, to whom he conveyed “Chile’s interest in beginning a new stage in the bilateral relationship.”

Foreign Affairs Minister Andrés Allamand traveled to La Paz to participate in the inauguration ceremony of President Luis Arce and Vice President David Choquehuanca, which took place today in Bolivia’s Plurinational Legislative Assembly.

Following the ceremony, Minister Allamand spoke with newly inaugurated Mr. Arce and Mr. Choquehuanca, to whom he conveyed “Chile’s interest in beginning a new stage in the bilateral relationship.” The minister stated that, “Our approach has been well received and we will generate spaces for coming together in order to turn this idea into a reality that benefits both countries.”

Minister Allamand also had the opportunity to speak with Argentine President Alberto Fernández and his Foreign Minister, Felipe Solá, with whom he discussed “the need for in-depth work on the bilateral agenda,” according to Allamand’s statement. He also talked with his counterparts from Spain, Arancha González; Uruguay, Francisco Bustillo; and Iran, Mohammad Javad Zarif.
