Chile Avanza Contigo: These are the main achievements in our two years of government

We have acted, and will continue to do so, to combat inequality and work for a dignified life for all Chileans.

This March 11 marks two years of government and Chile Avanza Contigo (Chile Advances with You). In this period, we have acted, and will continue to do so, to combat inequality and work for a dignified life for all the people of Chile.

The government has also made progress with the private sector and, at the same time, demanded greater commitment from it towards building a fairer country. Additionally, both domestically and internationally, we have defended democracy and its values.

The second half of our time in office starts with three main priorities: Security; Growth; and Raising Pensions.

Chile Avanza Contigo: These are some of the concrete results

  • Where there were narco-mausoleums, there are now plazas with children playing.
  • Rural violence decreased by 42%.
  • Where you previously had to pay to receive health care, now it is free with Copago Cero (Zero Co-Payment).
  • 105,000 families who previously shared housing, now have their own home.
  • Where before there was irresponsibility, now we have the “Papito Corazón” Law for alimony payments.
  • We began our administration with a minimum salary of $350,000 Chilean pesos (US$362), and we are already reaching $500,000 pesos (US$518).
  • Where before there was a lack of immigration control, we now have reinforced borders.
  • Where there was a lack of time to spend with family, we now have the 40-hour working week.
  • We received the country with 9.4% inflation, and today it is less than half, at 4.5%.
  • Where there were previously abandoned railway lines, we now have the most modern and fastest trains in all of South America.
