Chile among ten best countries in the world to live during the pandemic

According to the Bloomberg COVID Resilience Ranking, Chile climbed 23 places over the previous month, reaching eighth in the world. It is the highest ranked country in the Americas.

Chile has been named one of the top ten countries to live during the pandemic, thanks to coronavirus control strategies linked to its highly-praised vaccination program. This according to the Bloomberg Resilience Ranking, which has placed Chile eighth in the world, surpassing countries like Switzerland and the Netherlands, and first in the Americas.

“Among the rising stars, Chile’s stunning turnaround, from the lower half of the ranking to top eight within a month, reflects the overall recovery of South America, once the worst-hit region in the world,” according to the Bloomberg report.

Our country’s jump in the ranking is significant, given that we climbed 23 places over the previous month. Chile received a resilience score of 71.4%, with 92.4% of the population vaccinated.

According to the report, the key to Chile becoming one of the countries most prepared to ride out the pandemic has been its successful vaccination program, which includes a third booster dose. Few other countries have been able to offer booster doses to now.

Additionally, the report noted that Chile has been able to relax “domestic restrictions and reopen borders to all vaccinated foreign tourists with a five-day quarantine. It will further ease quarantine for travelers in November.”

According to the ranking, the top ten countries in the world are Ireland, with a score of 75.1, followed by Spain (74.6), United Arab Emirates (74.6), Denmark (74.3), Finland (74.2), Norway (73.1), France (71.5), Chile (74.1), Switzerland (71.3) and the Netherlands (71.3).
