National Lithium Strategy takes important step for investments

Process begins for Chilean and foreign investors to participate in exploration and/or exploitation projects.

The National Lithium Strategy continues to advance, and an important step was taken today as the Request for Information (RFI) process got under way. Chilean and foreign investors have now been invited to express their interest in executing lithium exploration and/or exploitation projects in our country.

The process aims to efficiently design processes for granting Special Lithium Operation Contracts (CEOL) based on updated information.

The information obtained from this process will be used by the Mining Ministry to define the lithium deposits for which the State will begin the process to conclude special lithium operation contracts.

In this regard, the deposits in which interest is expressed will be considered a priority. On the contrary, deposits in which no interest is expressed will not be considered a priority for the future conclusion of contracts.

The Chilean and foreign investors interested in participating in this process will be able to download the terms and conditions at www.minmineria.cl, where they will also be able to access the platform to express their interest.

As agreed in the Strategic Council of the Lithium and Salt Flats Committee, some areas of the national territory will be excluded from this request for information process. The detailed list of the salt flats that will not be part of the process is available at www.chileavanzaconlitio.
