Minister Prokurica at Expomin launch: “This is a great opportunity to show the world what Chile is doing in the field of mining.”

The Minister and the manager of the international fair, Francisco Sotomayor, announced that this year’s event will feature an enterprise and innovation pavilion.

Mining Minister Baldo Prokurica and Expomin Manager Francisco Sotomayor led the launch of the international mining fair, which will take place April 20-24. The slogan of this year’s event will be “Mining Facilitating the Future.”

Minister Prokurica stated that “this is a great opportunity to show the world what Chile is doing in the field of mining and to create connections with Chilean and foreign companies who are providers in this sector in order to address the challenges that the industry is facing.”

The Minister explained that “this year’s fair will give space to Chilean providers and startups so that they can present their innovations, because we believe that this is a way to export intelligence and services. Expomin represents an opportunity to incorporate Chilean mining into the world and to host exhibitors with new technologies.”

Along these same lines, Expomin Manager Francisco Sotomayor explained that “this space will provide lower-cost access for entrepreneurs, who will enjoy the support of various institutions. We are seeking to contribute and we want innovation and technology to be represented by Chilean startups, which will have the opportunity to connect with over 5,000 foreign visitors to the exhibition.”

Sotomayor noted that a little over two months before the exhibition “we are very satisfied given the solid level of confirmation by companies received to date. We have sold over 80% of the space and 29 countries have confirmed their participation, with others pending.”

He added that they are optimistic about this 30th anniversary edition and remarked that “holding this event speaks to the stability and projection of this international showcase and the interest that the mining sector generates at the global level. The fair is about more than stands, exhibitors and visitors; the sector is reflected in its stakeholders, investors and international officials.”
