End of COVID-19 Protected Borders Plan: Health Ministry ends health requirements to enter Chile
The decision ends a number of requirements that were necessary to enter Chile.
After the World Health Organization declared the end to the Public Health Emergency of International Concern, Chile’s Health Ministry has put an end to the measures of the Protected Borders Plan.

Protected Borders Plan measures that are coming to an end
The end of the Protected Borders Plan implemented in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic means that the following requirements to enter the country will end on May 9:
- PCR test
- Vaccine certificate
The random testing of travelers will also come to an end.
Circulation of other respiratory viruses
Although the COVID-19 epidemiological scenario is slowing, the circulation of other respiratory viruses is accelerating as winter approaches.
It is therefore important to keep up to date with vaccines, both against COVID-19 and influenza.
It is also recommended to maintain the self-care measures acquired during the pandemic:
- Frequent hand washing
- Ventilation of closed spaces
- Use of a face mask when showing respiratory symptoms
