What I must know if I am a resident


Qualifying requirements to stay more than 30 days on the island:

Residence is with your spouse, civil partner or common-law couple, children, ascendants and those who are subject to your personal care.

Hired to work or perform an independent business activity on the island.

Personnel hired by State bodies or companies. Persons who work in the public service or in the judiciary.

Persons who perform special duties on the island on behalf of a public service concessionaire or a person who has entered into a contract with the State and must execute it on Easter Island.

Those who are developing a research project in relation to the Island and who have the support of a university or Conicyt.

Those entered in the special register of the Electoral Registry may remain until publication of the proclamation decree issued by TRICEL or by the electoral tribunal, as the case may be.
