With a focus on investment: President arrives in United States to participate in 2023 APEC Summit

At the international event, the president will lead efforts to promote commercial exchange with other nations. 

President Gabriel Boric arrived in San Francisco, United States, this afternoon to participate in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit that will be taking place until this Thursday. The summit is an important international event, in which Chile seeks to expand our commercial ties and attract investment to the country. 

The president will be one of the speakers at the CEO Summit. The event brings together world leaders, more than 1,200 CEOs from large companies within the APEC economies, entrepreneurs and other key stakeholders to discuss the global opportunities and challenges facing the region. 

The president will also participate in the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting, where he will speak alongside leaders from the United States, China, Canada, Mexico and Vietnam. In addition, he will lead an activity with COPEC Wind Ventures, a business project accelerator focused on promoting innovation in sectors such as energy and mobility. He will also hold meetings with prominent Chileans residing in San Francisco, as well as authorities such as the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau. 

The delegation accompanying the president will be made up of Foreign Affairs Minister Alberto van Klaveren, Transport Minister Juan Carlos Muñoz, Science, Technology, Knowledge and Innovation Minister Aisén Etcheverry, International Economic Relations Undersecretary Claudia Sanhueza, and guests from the world of start-ups, innovation, culture and tourism.
