President Piñera meets with Prime Minister of Italy Mario Draghi

During the meeting, the two leaders discussed bilateral trade and post-pandemic economic recovery strategies, as well as the challenges of combatting climate change.

This Wednesday, the President of Chile, Sebastián Piñera, held a working meeting with the Prime Minister of Italy, Mario Draghi. 

At the meeting, held at the Chigi Palace in the Italian capital, the authorities discussed the strengthening of bilateral trade in the context of post-pandemic economic recovery, the challenges each country faces in combatting climate change and preparations for the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) in Glasgow, for which Italy holds the co-presidency. 

The Italian Prime Minister also complimented Chile’s vaccination process and addressed the cooperation of both countries in the protection of Antarctica and in matters of security. 

Chile’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Andrés Allamand, also participated in the meeting.
