President Piñera meets with President of Italy Sergio Mattarella

During the meeting, the two presidents discussed post-pandemic economic recovery, mutual collaboration on cultural matters and the commitment to address climate change, among other issues.

This Wednesday, the President of Chile, Sebastián Piñera, met with the President of Italy, Sergio Mattarella. 

At the meeting, held at the Quirinal Palace in Rome, the two leaders discussed post-pandemic economic recovery, the modernization and collaboration treaty between the two countries, bilateral collaboration in science, technology and research and the promotion and development of green hydrogen as the energy of the future. 

Regarding the latter, the leaders stressed the commitment of both nations in the fight against climate change that is affecting the entire world. The exchange took place in the context of the upcoming United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26), scheduled for November. 

At the meeting, which was also attended by Foreign Affairs Minister Andrés Allamand, the authorities also discussed Antarctic cooperation and protection policies.
