Minister Vallejo goes on terrain to launch the "Chile Vota Informado” campaign ahead of the constitutional referendum on September 4

  • The Minister Secretary General of the Government, Camila Vallejo, presented the first physical copies of the draft constitution in the Los Lagos region, as part of the campaign for the "Chile Vota Informado” (Chile votes in an informed manner) campaign.

  • The proposed new Constitution is available online at www.chilevotainformado.cl, so that anyone can download it quickly and easily.

“The Government's commitment and duty is to provide access to the proposed new Constitution to every citizen, so that they can read it and form their own opinion. We must take great care to ensure that every person is empowered and does not form their opinion on the basis of fake information,” said the Government Spokesperson. Minister Camila Vallejo was speaking from Osorno, a city in the Los Lagos region, which was selected for the kick-off of the Chile Vota Informado (Chile votes in an informed manner) campaign ahead of the referendum on September 4.

In Osorno, the Government Spokeswoman held meetings with local authorities and communities, participated in briefings and presented the first physical copies of the proposed new Constitution in the form of a pocket-sized book. The ultimate goal is to make the complete text available to citizens in every possible format: digital, print, audiobook and braille.

As a first step, some 900,000 physical copies of the proposed new Constitution will be made available to citizens. Additionally, more than one hundred information screens across the country will display QR codes, which citizens can use to download the Constitution to their cell phones. In the Metropolitan Region, these screens can be found on a number of Santiago Metro lines, as well as in other spots around the city. In the rest of the country, 46 screens are currently active in the Arica, Antofagasta, Atacama, Coquimbo, Valparaíso, O’Higgins, Maule, Ñuble, Los Lagos, La Araucanía, Los Ríos and Aysén regions.
