In addition, it establishes requirements so that the programs that are implemented ensure a high quality of results, meet high scientific standards and are beneficial for the development of science and technology.

Israel's experience in water management

After the formal meeting with the Israeli authorities, Minister Couve, together with part of the Chilean delegation, visited the facilities of the Kibbutz Naan and the NaanDanJain Irrigation company.

Speaking about this visit, the Minister of Science stated, "we have a lot to learn about water and what to apply from Israel’s experience. This is a country that deals with the issue of water as a comprehensive problem. Water is a challenge the country has been addressing for many decades and includes the desalination of water for agricultural use, the use of wastewater that passes through treatment plants, and innovations in precision irrigation."

Minister Couve also stressed, "Israel has taken innovative steps in the use of water in its agricultural sector. This experience is especially significant for Chile in a scenario where desertification is advancing and we need technological solutions that make more efficient use of water."
