XXVIII Ibero-American Summit: President Boric arrives in Dominican Republic

Our president hopes to meet with government leaders from various countries to discuss issues such as migration, technological modernization and environmental challenges.

President Boric arrived in the Dominican Republic last Thursday to participate in the XXVIII Ibero-American Summit. He was accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister Alberto van Klaveren and a presidential delegation.

Most Latin American countries, in addition to Portugal and Spain, will participate at the summit.

Among the issues that are expected to be addressed at the regional meeting are challenges concerning the environment and migration, as well as discussions on technological modernization, especially in relation to the digitization of education.

“In Chile, we have very recently experienced a difficult time with the forest fires, and we received a great amount of help from the international community, particularly the Ibero-American community. This demonstrates the importance of integration between sister nations who, in moments of anxiety, in difficult moments, are ready to help us move forward,” President Gabriel Boric.
