Chile’s President receives the Prime Minister of South Korea, Han Duck-soo, on an official visit

During the visit, both nations signed three Memorandums of Understanding to deepen their work together.

The President of Chile, Gabriel Boric, received the Prime Minister of South Korea, Han Duck-soo, today at La Moneda Palace.

After the formal meeting between the leaders and their respective delegations, both nations signed three Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) that will allow the two countries to work together.

The first was between the Korea Mine Rehabilitation and Mineral Resources Corporation (KOMIR) and Chile’s National Mining Corporation (ENAMI) about cooperation on sustainable mining and the value chain of mineral resources. The second was between both governments to establish a democratic dialogue that would allow development experiences and knowledge to be shared in different areas, with an emphasis on the search for new cooperative agendas of mutual interest, with a future-oriented perspective.

The third MOU was signed by the Chilean Agricultural Research Institute (INIA), part of the Agriculture Ministry, and South Korea’s Rural Development Administration (RDA) to establish cooperation mechanisms in agricultural science and research, and the development of agricultural technologies.

These tools will allow us to reinforce the links between both nations, strengthening joint work in strategic areas such as mining, agriculture and democracy.
