Social Donations Law (19.885)

The Social Development and Family Ministry oversees Law No. 19.855, which “regulates the proper use of donations from legal persons that generate tax benefits and extends them to other social and public purposes” (Social Donations Law).

This law grants tax benefits to companies or natural persons who donate money to finance projects aimed at people in situations of poverty and/or with disabilities, as well as alcohol and/or drug prevention and rehabilitation. These projects include support for families and territories affected by catastrophes and who are in a situation of vulnerability.

The law regulates the donations received by Project Bank initiatives, presented by institutions belonging to the Grantees Registry. It also regulates the operation of the Mixed Social Support Fund, which allocates resources via public tender to projects executed or to be executed.

You can check the Grantees Registry on the website and search for donations.
