Laurence Golborne cursó sus estudios secundarios en el Instituto Nacional de Santiago. Luego se tituló de Ingeniero Civil Industrial en la Universidad Católica de Chile, recibiendo el reconocimiento al mejor egresado de su promoción por parte del Colegio de Ingenieros de Chile. Posteriormente realizó estudios en administración de empresas en las Universidades de Northwestern y Stanford, Estados Unidos.

Ha tenido una importante carrera en el mundo privado, destacándose como Gerente General de Cencosud S.A. hasta el año 2009, desde donde lideró la expansión de esta compañía del retail, que hoy cuenta con operaciones en Chile, Argentina, Brasil, Perú y Colombia. Fue miembro del directorio de diversas empresas y del Consejo Asesor de Havas Media Group para Chile, Perú y Bolivia.

Fue director de la Sociedad Deportiva Audax Italiano, de la Fundación San Agustín de la Facultad de Ingeniería de la Universidad Católica de Chile, y de ICARE, corporación privada sin fines de lucro que promueve la excelencia empresarial en Chile.

Laurence Golborne nació en Santiago, es casado y padre de seis hijos.

Mr. Golborne graduated from the Instituto Nacional high school in Santiago and he received his Industrial Civil Engineering degree from the Universidad Católica de Chile, obtaining the achievement of Best Graduate granted by the Chilean Engineers Association. Afterwards he underwent business administration studies at Northwestern and Stanford Universities in the United States of America.

Mr. Golborne has longstanding professional experience in the private sector, prominent among which was his term as the CEO of the Cencosud group until 2009, where he led the expansion of this retail conglomerate that currently operates in Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Peru and Colombia. Mr. Golborne sat in the board of several companies and was also a member of the Advisory Board at the Havas Media Group for Chile, Peru and Bolivia.

Among his activities, he was a director of the Audax Italiano Sporting Club, the San Agustín Foundation of the Faculty of Engineering of the Universidad Católica de Chile, and he was also a director on the board of ICARE, a private nonprofit institution that encourages business excellence in Chile.

Mr. Golborne was born in Santiago, he is married and the father of three children.
