Ernesto Ottone

President of the National Council of Culture and the Arts

He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree, he is an actor and has a Master’s degree in Management of Cultural Institutions and Policies. He is politically independent.

Prior to his appointment he was Director at the Artistic and Cultural Center, Universidad de Chile.  This institution is responsible for the Chilean Symphony Orchestra, the Chilean National Ballet, the Symphonic Choir and Chamber Choir of the Universidad de Chile, the Andrés Bello Quartet and the Universidad de Chile Theater.

Between 2010 and 2011, he was Executive Director of the Salvador Allende Solidarity Museum.

Between 2001 and 2010, he was the creator and Executive Director at the Centro Matucana 100 and Corporación Cultural Matucana Cien.

Between 1998 and 2000, he was Head of Programming at the Casa Amarilla Theater.
